On the 23rd of January 2019, COALBYPRO’s workshop was organised in Katowice, Poland. The workshop was held in the CCTW building of the Central Mining Institute (GIG). The idea of the workshop was to present to relevant stakeholders the project, part of the results and also discuss the uses of coal fly ash focused on the CO2 capture in the ash and its derived products, i.e. zeolites.
Many stakeholders responded to the invitation. The industry was represented by stakeholders from power companies in Czech Republic (C-Energy Planá s.r.o.) and Poland (TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A.). The results presented were very promising and they were received with pleasure from the industrial stakeholders mentioning that they are waiting for the final ones and especially for the feasibility of implementing the technologies that COALBYPRO proposes.
The COALBYPRO team is organising a workshop with title “Coal fly ash and CO2 reducing applications” in which the uses of coal fly ash will be discussed focused on the CO2
capture in the ash and its derived products, i.e. zeolites

COALBYPRO project was presented in the 9th International Freiberg Conference on IGCC & XtL Technologies, that took place in Berlin from 3rd to 8th June 2018. The progress made in low-emission, sustainable technologies, and the economic and industrial-scale implementation of carbon conversion technologies were presented.
The 2nd meeting of the COALBYPRO project took place in UCT’s facilities in Prague on the 23rd – 24th of May 2018. During the meeting, the partners presented the first results of the project and discussed the next steps.
TVIP (Týdne výzkumu a inovací pro praxi a životní prostředí - Week of research and innovation for practice and the environment)
In the TVIP2018 conference (www.tretiruka.cz - in Czech only), the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (UCT), presented the COALBYPRO project. During the presentation, the partners of the project where presented and then basic information was provided such as the aim of the project that is to evaluate the sorption properties of the crude as well as modified coal fly ashes and zeolites. The presentation also summarised data from analytical and experimental methods that were used (XRF analysis, BET surface measurement, laboratory sorption apparatuses etc). Finally, the presentation briefly mentioned the pilot scale unit, which is currently located at the Prunéřov II power plant.
TVIP (Týdne výzkumu a inovací pro praxi a životní prostředí - Week of research and innovation for practice and the environment) is an annual event for presenting innovative and environmental friendly technologies, sustainable power industry etc. The conference took place in Hustopece, Czech Republic, 6-8 March 2018
